The Department of Bioengineering in the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering at Florida Gulf Coast University has an opening for a new Visiting Assistant Professor in Bioengineering to begin August 7, 2019. Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) is a public, comprehensive university situated within 760 acres of beautiful preserve in Southwest Florida. We offer a wide range of undergraduate programs (including ABET accredited engineering degrees in Bioengineering, Civil, Environmental and Software Engineering), as well as selected graduate degree programs, including a M.S. Engineering degree program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- An earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field of engineering
- ABD candidates with degree conferral dates after July 2019 will be considered at the Visiting Lecturer level
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Areas of expertise include neural engineering, medical devices (including robotics), and/or biomanufacturing
- Demonstrated ability to teach new and/or existing courses in bioengineering, as well as in selected general engineering topics
