The Rochester Institute of Technology’s Future Faculty Career Exploration Program

The Rochester Institute of Technology’s Future Faculty Career Exploration Program is currently accepting applications for the 2021 Cohort – https://bit.ly/3bNQTPA

This program is a rigorous four-day program designed for African American, Latino American, and Native American scholars and artists to experience a “behind the scenes” glimpse into life as a faculty member at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Participants will spend time learning from and networking with RIT administration, faculty and students, practicing their interview skills and job-talk presentation – all while exploring the research, teaching and service expectations of RIT faculty.

The WEPAN Inclusive Culture and Equity Award 

The WEPAN Inclusive Culture and Equity Award was awarded to Dr. Beena Sukumaran for exemplary leadership in implementing programs that promote positive change to the climate and culture for women in engineering fields for serving as a model for others. Dr. Sukumaran has served as the Vice President for Research at Rowan University and on August 1, she will be the Dean of the College of Engineering and Computing at Miami University in Ohio. Prior to that she was Professor and Department Head of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rowan. Dr. Sukumaran received her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.

WEPAN Awards will be presented at the Third Annual CoNECD Conference on April 20th at the Marriott Crystal City Gateway just outside of Washington, DC. The Collaborative Network for Engineering and Computing Diversity (CoNECD) is a collaborative effort of: NAMEPA, WEPAN, ASEE MIND & WIED.

A Delphi Study on Engineering for K-12 Education

I am a Ph.D. candidate in science education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. As part of my dissertation study, my advisor, Dr. Hasan Deniz and I are seeking participants who have experience in engineering, engineering education and/or engineering research.
