2020 Annual Conference

The Biomedical Engineering Division (BED) of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) looks forward to seeing you virtually at the 2020 Annual Conference and Exposition, which will take place online from June 22-26, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A summary of BED sessions is below. You can see additional details of BED events at the ASEE Online Session Locator. The live technical sessions will consist of brief overviews from the authors and extended time for questions. There are no poster sessions, and the Work In Progress papers will be presented during designated technical sessions. For all technical sessions, you can view the authors’ narrated presentation either before, during, or after the conference.

Other BED events, such as the Business Meeting and the Division Awards Virtual Social (it’s “BYOD — Bring Your Own Dinner” this year), will still occur virtually! Using these links, we encourage you to sign up for these events so that we know you are coming (note that you must sign into your ASEE account to do this).

The Division Mixer kicks off the conference. This event is both a networking opportunity and a chance for divisions to showcase and promote themselves to prospective members. The exact format has yet to be announced by ASEE — details will be posted as soon as they are available.

We will discuss the content of the current and future annual meetings, elect officers, and discuss other matters of importance to the biomedical engineering community. We will also introduce the new Journal of Biomedical Engineering Education. This meeting is open to all BED members. You do not have to be registered for the 2020 Annual Meeting to participate.
