Program Director at NIH

National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) is seeking a creative, energetic and dedicated individual for a Program Director position in the Division of Interdisciplinary Training (DIDT).  The responsibilities of the position include: all aspects of training grant management including interacting with potential applicants, recommendation of applications for funding, management of funded grants and awards, outreach, portfolio analysis, program evaluation, identification of critical gaps and development of initiatives and measures to address these.  The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Biomedical Engineering or Bioengineering, several years of professional experience beyond postdoctoral studies, and a genuine interest in the advancement of biomedical technologies and workforce development.  Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and written and oral communication skills are essential for success in this position.

The mission of the NIBIB is to improve human health by supporting the development of cutting-edge technologies and computational methods in biomedical imaging and bioengineering. DIDT aims to prepare a future workforce that can accomplish this mission. DIDT uses existing NIH training programs and develops creative and flexible new programs to target various career levels.  DIDT aims to identify and fill critical gaps in biomedical imaging and bioengineering training, while enhancing the participation of underrepresented populations in the scientific workforce.
