This Postdoctoral Scholar position is in support of a $2.4 million 4-year NSF-funded grant award entitled Ed+gineering: An Interdisciplinary Partnership Integrating Engineering into Elementary Teacher Preparation Programs. Ed+gineering’s goal is to enhance preservice teachers’ ability and intention to integrate engineering into their instruction. The project partners undergraduate education and engineering students to design and deliver engineering lessons to elementary school students. Using a quasi-experimental design and a mixed methods approach, the study examines the impact of the model on preservice teachers and follows participants into their first year of professional teaching. It also aims to uncover the barriers and enablers to preK-6 engineering instruction. The position is available immediately. The Postdoctoral Scholar will primarily support project research and publication submission but also assist with implementation, including teacher professional development, project management, and dissemination.
