Limbitless Solutions at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida is now accepting applications for our summer research program, NSF REU Site: Research Experiences in Pediatric Prosthetics. This unique, 9-week summer research program is focused on the application of pediatric prosthetics through art and technology. Students will be assigned in multidisciplinary pairs to a project and work with previously established STEAM research teams.

This unique, 9-week summer research program is focused on the application of pediatric prosthetics through art and technology. Students will be assigned in multidisciplinary pairs to a project and work with previously established STEAM research teams.

Research projects will include:
• Applications in electromyography sensors.
• Developing software for multi-gesture prosthetic functions.
• Building user interface with Bluetooth integration for human-machine interaction.
• Gamified training.
• Designing wearable, tactile interface for prosthetic user grip control feedback.

• Receive a $6,300 stipend; plus travel funds to and from REU Site.

Eligibility:
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or U.S. National
• Sophomore to Senior class standing
• Overall GPA 2.7 or higher
• Undergraduate majors in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Sciences, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics
