LEES cultivates dialgoue and discussion. At ASEE conferences, we host special sessions on vital themes, bringing academics into conversation with community organizers, practitioners, and students. In technical sessions, we encourage authors to be succinct in sharing their papers, and we encourage moderators to hold questions until after all authors have presented, and then to treat all presenting authors as a panel who may respond to audience, moderator, and co-panelist questions. This should be a 20-30 minute conversation related to the themes of the session in which the panelists (authors) are in dialogue with the audience and with each other. Session moderators will encourage synthesizing questions that make connections among papers/presentations.
