The Professional Communication Program at Johns Hopkins University seeks candidates for a teaching-track faculty position in technical writing and professional communication. This teaching load for this position is three writing and communication courses each fall and spring (a total of six courses per year). All communication courses have small enrollment caps. The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE) offers B.S., M.Eng., M.S., and Ph.D. degree programs in chemical engineering. CBE has an enrollment of approximately 400 undergraduate students and 80 graduate students. The thirty-one collegial, supportive, and diverse CBE faculty teach and/or carry out externally funded research at more than $11 million annually. Assistant Professor of Engineering Studies, Engineering Studies Program

The Lafayette College Engineering Studies Program invites applications for a new full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position focused on Engineering, Social Justice, and inclusive STEM studies to begin Academic Year 2023-2024. The program is a leader in undergraduate engineering education, offering a unique, interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts degree in engineering at an undergraduate-only liberal arts college that offers four ABET-accredited BS engineering degrees. The new faculty member will teach courses at the intersections of engineering, public policy, and inclusive STEM studies. This position will help to expand the Program’s course offerings and research related to engineering and social justice, inclusive practices in engineering education, questions of identity in the engineering design process, and/or equity and inclusion in the implementation of technologies for the public good. The position is integral to the strategic direction of our new Hanson Center for Inclusive STEM Education and represents an exciting opportunity to help shape the scope and impact of this interdisciplinary center as well as the Program, Engineering Division, and College.
Preferred candidates will hold at least one degree in engineering (undergraduate and/or graduate) and, by July 1, 2023, will have received a Ph.D. in engineering or other field that prepares them for this interdisciplinary position, such as Engineering Education, Science and Technology Studies (STS), and Engineering and Public Policy.
