Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering

The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) at Iowa State University invites applications for multiple new faculty positions in the areas of Advanced Manufacturing (2 positions), Human Factors and Ergonomics (1 position), and Operations Research and Analytics (1 position). All positions are expected to begin in August 2023.  The positions are open to candidates at all ranks; Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Exceptional candidates with commensurate experience and proven track record will be considered for a named Professorship.

 

The successful applicants will be participating in all aspects of the department’s mission, including developing a strong externally funded research program, teaching and supervising students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and participating in service to the university and profession.

 

The new $54 million Therkildsen Industrial Engineering Building is planned to open by early 2025 with more than 50,000 square feet of space dedicated to the department’s teaching, research, and outreach activities.

 

Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent in Industrial Engineering or a closely aligned field.

Associate Professor candidates must also meet the university standards for appointment to the rank, including significant experience/accomplishments in the candidate’s area of expertise.

Full Professor candidates are required to have national distinction, international recognition, and a substantial scholarly record in their area of expertise, in addition to the aforementioned requirements.

Instructor or Teaching Assistant Professor (open rank), Department of Industrial Engineering University of Arkansas

The Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Arkansas invites applications for an open rank teaching position. The position is a non-tenure track appointment as either Instructor or Teaching Assistant Professor, with title contingent on the qualifications of the candidate. The responsibilities of the position include teaching undergraduate industrial engineering courses, advising undergraduate industrial engineering students and participating in a level of scholarship consistent with the appointment. The anticipated start date of the position is either January or August 2022. Applicants should have a graduate degree (or earned prior to start date) in industrial engineering, systems engineering, engineering management, operations research or other closely related field and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. To be eligible for appointment as Teaching Assistant Professor, the candidate must hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment. Applicants should demonstrate potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate level and the ability to provide student academic advising and other appropriate service to the department, university, and the profession.
