Division Membership

The Student Division welcomes any ASEE member into its ranks. It’s easy to join using one of two paths:

  1. Indicate your desire to join the Student Division on your ASEE membership application or renewal by checking the appropriate box and pay the annual dues, or
  2. Send an email to membership@asee.org and ask that the Student Division be added to your membership profile.

As a member, you are invited to join your fellow Student Division members at any Student Division meeting during the ASEE Annual Conference.

Note: National members of ASEE may join up to 6 professional interest divisions, of which no more than 3 can be divisions that do not charge dues. Additionally, ensure you have your email notifications activated so you do not miss out on updates and opportunities to volunteer.

Volunteering

The Student Division, like other ASEE Divisions, has many volunteer opportunities. These include officer positions, committee appointments, reviewer roles, etc. Elections for officers – secretary/treasurer, and programs – are held each year prior to the ASEE conference. Those interested in an officer position should attend the Student Division business meetings held at the ASEE conferences. Appointments to serve on the nomination committee or any of the awards committees (e.g. Best Paper) are made throughout the year. Respond to these calls made by the chair via email and at the business meetings.

Volunteering to help the Student Division does not mean having to hold an official title. Most Student Division members volunteer mainly as Paper Reviewers and Session Moderators for upcoming conferences. All Student Division members are added to the Student Division listserv, which posts opportunities to review and moderate.
