The objectives of the EPP division pertain to engineering and public policy. Specifically, the division is to promote an understanding of a) public policy fundamentals, b) the implications of public policy on emerging technologies as well as the broader impacts of engineering solutions on society, c) the processes and practices required to develop public support for emerging technological solutions to societal grand challenges (e.g., those associated with natural resources, the environment, physical and information infrastructure, health care, sustainable development, etc.)
