ASEE Board of Directors (BOD) Committee on P12 Engineering Education

Process for Providing Feedback to ASEE HQ and BOD

Purpose of this Document: The members of the ASEE BOD Committee on P12 Engineering Education (hereafter, the P12 Committee) have collective expertise that enables them to provide ASEE HQ and the BOD with recommendations regarding ASEE’s potential involvement in P12 initiatives. Such proposed initiatives may include partnerships, efforts related to teacher certification, etc. The purpose of this document is to communicate a system for the P12 Committee to vet proposed P12 initiatives that would: involve the use of ASEE’s human or capital resources, including paid and voluntary human resources; address ASEE’s mission, vision, and core beliefs and its strategic objectives in the P12 context; and impact the reputation ASEE has with regard to engineering education.

Associated Documents:

  • This document references a rubric to be used by the committee to vet such initiatives.
  • A template for proposers to use to supply information regarding the initiative in a standard format.

Two Rounds: There will be two rounds of review per year by the P12 Committee for proposals from ASEE members, HQ and the BOD. The committee may accept proposals at other times in extenuating circumstances, but only as advocated by the HQ and the BOD.
