Engineering Literature Guides

ASEE Engineering Libraries Division (ELD) produced a series titled, Engineering Literature Guides, from 1985 to 2002. Individual titles of “Selective Guide to Literature on…”
were prepared by librarians with subject expertise in the area and reviewed by members of the ELD Literature Guides Subcommittee to meet the rigorous standards of quality and bibliographic accuracy set for this series. The Union List of Technical Reports, Standards, and Patents in Engineering Libraries was compiled by the Union List Subcommittee and reviewed by members of the Publications Committee.

The guides are older and dated. The list below is being maintained to recognize the efforts of the authors, series editors, subcommittee members, and for historical purposes. The guides are owned by many academic libraries and can be found via WorldCat.org if needed. More current information can be found in “Using the Engineering Literature,” by Bonnie Osif (2012, 2nd edition), as well as online research guides prepared by ASEE Engineering Libraries Division members and others that are searchable via the LibGuides Community. Please contact your campus librarian for up-to-date information on engineering resources.
